PRETTY LITTLE LIARS

Launch spot for The Perfectionists

I am Mikael Jacek Tyrsen, a director, storyteller, and tech entrepreneur with roots in both Sweden and Poland, but now I call Los Angeles home.

Back in 2006, I took a leap of faith and moved to the U.S., chasing the dream I had nurtured for so long: to make it in the entertainment industry. I started out by designing movie posters for blockbuster films, a humble beginning that set the stage for my dreams.

Determined to get on set, I threw myself headfirst into the wild world of showbiz. This exploration wasn't just about fulfilling personal ambitions—it was about gathering a wealth of knowledge within the industry to become a better leader.

Hard work always pays off as I finally earned a role on set, and it wasn't long before my abilities began to shine through. In just two years, I found myself directing big-budget shoots for companies such as Disney and Nickelodeon. Now, six years on, my portfolio is filled with major campaigns not only for these networks but also for powerhouses like ABC, Hulu, and esteemed brands including Volvo, Heineken, Microsoft, and Kohl's, with some airing during Hollywood's biggest night - The OSCARS.

In 2019, I was featured in SHOOT Online’s “New Directors Showcase” for my launch campaign of “Pretty Little Liars.” In 2022, I founded Killabears, a pioneering Web3/NFT brand, aiming to make it the first in its field to reach cinema screens. My direction of our brand short film garnered attention from Seth Green, starting the development of a motion picture. This film, currently in its writing phase, represents not just a milestone for Killabears but a new direction in integrating NFTs with mainstream media.

But my creativity isn't just channeled through the lens. As a serial entrepreneur with several successes under my belt, I've showcased my skills for vision and leadership—traits I consider vital for any director. The challenge of assembling a great team to deliver exceptional results within budgetary confines is, to me, reminiscent of the trials of starting up a new venture.
